Crucial work is being done now. The Texas Legislature ignored the minority population growth revealed by the 2020 Census and adopted new maps that undermine minority voters in virtually every region of the State. TJEF is supporting a major plaintiff group that has filed claims against the congressional, State Senate and State House maps.

 

TJEF is funding expert voting rights legal counsel and providing crucial technical, analytic, and mapping support to our plaintiff group. We work closely with key elected officials and community leaders to build the critical record needed as litigation builds to trial in federal court to restore fair boundaries and the voting strength of minority Texans.
