Who We Are

The Texas Justice and Education Fund (TJEF) brings essential technical and legal support to Texas redistricting and to voting rights issues affecting our state. TJEF is directly engaged in ongoing Texas congressional redistricting efforts, fighting voter suppression and protecting ballot access. During each legislative session since 2011, TJEF has supported legislators and allies in their efforts to establish a record demonstrating Texas leaders’ hostility to minority Texans. This record proved essential to federal courts’ repeated findings of intentional voting discrimination. That record and those court findings will strengthen our ability to achieve fair and nondiscriminatory 2021 redistricting plans and to prepare for future voting rights battles.
